No doubt you’ve all seen that the pitches are not in a good state. In addition to the extreme weather conditions, unfortunately the herbicide that was applied to the pitches appears to have had an adverse effect on the new grass.
As a result the whole of both pitches have had to be receded.
Obviously until the new seed has germinated and had chance to develop a strong enough root growth it will be susceptible to damage from footfall.
Consequently unfortunately we have had to introduce more restrictions on use of the pitches.
Up until 24th October home fixtures for the senior sections will be rescheduled to away fixtures.
Until the week commencing 26th October only the senior sections will train at the club, with this being on pitch 2 on Thursdays only.
Until the week commencing 26th October the M&J sections will only train at the club on Sundays, using pitch 2 only.
We appreciate that this will be disappointing and frustrating, but the aim is to try and give the pitches the best chance that we can in an effort to give us the best chance we can to get the most use out of the pitches during the winter months.
